On Saturday, October 5th, 2024, constituents and supporters gathered in Jimeta, Yola, to mark a significant milestone—Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya’s one-year anniversary as the representative for the Fufore/Song Federal Constituency. The event, celebrated with gratitude and optimism, showcased Boya’s steadfast commitment to empowering the people and fostering development across Adamawa State.

A Year of Reflection and Progress

Opening his address, Hon. Boya expressed heartfelt appreciation for the community's support over his first year in office. Recognizing the high expectations held by his constituents, he emphasized that his focus has always been on delivering inclusive growth that reaches everyone in the constituency. “The dividends of this office will touch everyone irrespective of creed, calling, and political affiliation,” he declared, underscoring his commitment to unity and progress.

Notable Achievements: Building Infrastructure and Empowering Citizens

Since assuming office in June 2023, Boya has spearheaded numerous projects and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in Fufore and Song Local Government Areas. Key accomplishments include:

  1. Educational Investments: Bills were sponsored to establish the Federal College of Health Technology in Song and the Federal College of Education (Technical) in Fufore. Additionally, new classrooms were built in both local governments to create a conducive learning environment for young learners.

  2. Road Rehabilitation: Boya facilitated the allocation of N20 billion for the rehabilitation of the critical Jabbi Lamba-Malabu-Belel road, enhancing connectivity and economic activity in the region.

  3. Scholarships and Health Initiatives: Over 2,000 tertiary students from Fufore and Song have benefited from scholarships, while another 2,000 individuals received free eye surgeries, improving health outcomes across the constituency.

  4. Agricultural Support: Recognizing the importance of agriculture in the community, Boya provided 1,800 farmers with essential farming inputs, water pumps, and fertilizers, supporting their productivity and livelihoods.

  5. Youth and Women Empowerment: The empowerment program has trained 100 youths in cassava farming and 250 women in liquid soap, shoe, and handbag making. This hands-on support was further strengthened by startup funding, giving these individuals the resources needed to begin their entrepreneurial journeys.

  6. Public Utilities: Infrastructure projects have greatly expanded access to basic needs, with 3,000 solar-powered streetlights, 20 solar boreholes, and over 200 hand-pump boreholes installed or repaired across Fufore and Song LGAs. Additionally, three Hilux patrol vehicles were provided to local police divisions to enhance security.

  7. Employment Opportunities: Through his efforts, Boya facilitated the appointment of 136 youths into the Nigeria Police Force and secured federal appointments for three other youths, furthering job opportunities for young people.

Looking Forward with Hope

These achievements are only the beginning of Boya’s broader vision for the Fufore/Song Federal Constituency. He reiterated his gratitude to the community for their unwavering support and trust, promising to stay committed to the values and initiatives that have earned him their confidence. The road ahead is filled with promise as Boya strives to create a prosperous and inclusive future for all.

As he closed his speech, Hon. Boya emphasized the importance of feedback from his constituents, assuring them that his office is open to suggestions and advice. This participatory approach highlights his dedication to serving as a representative whose actions reflect the true needs of the community.

A Message of Unity and Gratitude

In a final message, Boya extended his appreciation to the All-Progressives Congress (APC), his colleagues, and government officials who have supported his work. “God bless Fufore/Song Federal Constituency, Adamawa State, and Nigeria,” he concluded, capturing the spirit of unity and hope that defined the day.

Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya's one-year anniversary serves as a powerful reminder of what dedicated leadership can accomplish. As his tenure continues, the people of Fufore and Song can look forward to more initiatives that address their needs and foster lasting development across the constituency.
