By: Abubakar Sali
Hon. Aliyu Wakili Boya, Esq., proudly bearing the revered title of Sardaunan Malabu, was born on June 8, 1978, into an illustrious aristocratic family in Malabu District of Fufore Local Government, Adamawa State.
From his earliest years, he was steeped in the values of leadership, service, and community, laying a foundation that would later blossom into a life of distinction.
His formative education in his native Malabu underscored his deep connection to the grassroots – a bond that continues to define his commitment to the people.
His traditional title extends prestige across the Adamawa Emirate and the historic Fombina dynasty into parts of the Republic of Cameroon, symbolizing both his noble heritage and enduring influence.
With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Boya pursued legal studies at the University of Maiduguri, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Law. His journey to the noble profession was crowned at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, where he was duly called to the Bar, becoming a barrister of repute.
His early career in public service saw him serve with distinction as Legislative Aide to Senator Muhammadu Bello Tukur between 2011 and 2014, and later SSA on Abuja Affairs to Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, the then Governor of Adamawa State, in 2015.
These experiences sharpened his political instincts, refined his leadership skills, and positioned him as a rising star in Adamawa politics.
Answering the call of his people, Boya ventured into grassroots politics, earning overwhelming trust and election as Executive Chairman of Fufore Local Government Area.
His sterling leadership propelled him to Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Adamawa State, where he was celebrated for selfless service and visionary governance.
Among his many acts of compassion, one stands out: in 2017–2018, he mobilized ₦2,000,000 to settle medical bills of an indigent victim from Ribadu District whose kidney had been removed in a shocking case.
This intervention saved a life, doused tensions, and earned him the Periscope Global Publishers Compassionate and Excellent Leadership Award.
His ALGON tenure garnered numerous local and international honors, affirming his empathy, courage, and integrity.
Today, Hon. Boya serves with distinction as Honourable Member representing Fufore/Song Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his first term, his impact is monumental.
He sponsored critical bills strengthening tertiary education, advancing teaching and learning, and creating skills acquisition schemes empowering women and youth.
Beyond legislation, Boya sponsors students from primary to tertiary levels and advances career opportunities for the next generation.
His people affirm his performance stands “the best of the rest” in Adamawa State.
A learned gentleman, Boya is a respected member of the Nigerian Bar Association and other professional bodies.
He finds joy in reading, meaningful interactions, and traveling.
His journeys span hamlets and villages in Fufore and Song, every Adamawa local government, Nigeria’s 36 states, and over 40 countries including the UK, US, Russia, Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, UAE, and much of Africa.
Recently, Boya returned from America, driven by resolve to honor this occasion.
Above all, Hon. Boya is a devoted family man, happily married with children who are his household’s pride and tomorrow’s promise.
In Boya, Adamawa State finds a leader of noble birth, scholarly wisdom, political acumen, and passion for humanity.
