The esteemed Federal Lawmaker representing the Fufore-Song Constituency has consistently prioritized education as a cornerstone of his legislative agenda. Echoing the profound wisdom of Nelson Mandela, who astutely observed that education has the dual capacity to either construct or demolish a nation, the lawmaker firmly believes in harnessing the transformative power of education to address longstanding challenges and pave the way for a brighter future for generations to come. Within a mere two years in office, he has made significant strides in elevating educational standards across his constituency to both national and international benchmarks.
His efforts are multifaceted and impactful, encompassing the construction of schools, colleges, and educational facilities, the distribution of essential teaching and learning materials, the provision of HP laptop computers, and the award of scholarships to deserving students. Notably, he has sponsored two pivotal bills aimed at establishing the Federal College of Health Technology in Song and the Federal College of Education, Technical Fufore, both of which have successfully navigated all legislative stages and are awaiting presidential assent.
Furthermore, the lawmaker’s commitment to infrastructural development is evident in projects such as the ongoing construction of the Police College in Malabu, Fufore Local Government, where contractors are presently mobilizing to commence work. Additionally, he has undertaken the 100% construction of several educational facilities, including a six-classroom office and store at Dabala Nursery and Primary School, a block of three classrooms at Wuro Babba Community Primary School, a block of two classrooms at Professor Jibril Aminu Primary School in Song, and another block of two classrooms at Dasin Hausa Primary School in Fufore. Each of these projects has been complemented by the provision of furniture and solar electric power panels, ensuring a conducive learning environment.
In a further demonstration of his dedication to educational advancement, the lawmaker has identified 20 schools slated for renovation, led by the Education Committee under the guidance of Abdulazeez Umar. Moreover, he has facilitated JAMB and CBT training for 1,000 students free of charge and awarded scholarships to 3,000 students in 2024, with plans underway to extend this gesture to 5,000 students in 2025. Notably, students with disabilities are set to benefit from 100% scholarships. The lawmaker has also distributed HP laptops to 107 post-primary school students across the constituency and provided teaching and learning materials, school bags, and uniforms to primary and post-primary students.
Given the remarkable achievements within his first two years in office, it is intriguing to speculate about the potential impact of his full four-year tenure. The constituent’s anticipation is palpable as they eagerly await the continuation of his visionary leadership and commitment to educational excellence.
