TRANSCENDING THE IMPOSSIBLE, THE MALABU HEALTH CENTRE, UNDER BOYA’S STEWARDSHIP, ACHIEVES UNINTERRUPTED 24/7 ELECTRIFICATION

The Malabu Health Centre, nestled in Fufore Local Government, once struggled under the weight of a crippling challenge: an unreliable power supply. For years, the clinic’s ability to serve its community was compromised, leaving patients and staff frustrated by frequent outages that disrupted critical services. Basic needs like storing vaccines, conducting lab tests, or even lighting the maternity ward hung in the balance. The situation seemed insurmountable, until the plea reached Hon. Barr Aliyu Wakili Boya, the dedicated member representing Fufore and Song Constituency. Known for turning obstacles into opportunities, Boya’s response was immediate and impactful. Without delay, he mobilized resources to address the crisis head-on.
Boya didn’t just stop at words he acted. He facilitated the installation of solar power panels to electrify the entire facility, including staff quarters, ensuring 24/7 energy access. The clinic’s in-charge and community leaders were overwhelmed with gratitude. We appreciate you, sir, they said, promising to support him in any way possible.
*The difference was instant and transformative, the freezers storing life-saving polio and immunization vaccines were now reliable, the pharmacy dispensed medicines without fear of spoilage, the laboratory processed tests efficiently, and the antenatal and postnatal wards welcomed mothers in comfort. Even the labor room, once a space of anxiety, now buzzed with hope as patients arrived from neighboring regions including Cameroon’s Republic seeking trusted care.*
The hospital runs smoothly now, the management affirmed with relief. Nearly 95% of our work depends on electricity, and it’s no longer a problem. The staff, once overburdened by constant repairs and generator costs, could focus on patients instead of power struggles. But Boya’s efforts didn’t end there. He sunk a solar-powered borehole to provide clean water and installed streetlights around the center, ensuring safety for staff and visitors at night. What was once a symbol of neglect is now a model of resilience. The community’s joy is palpable this isn’t just an upgrade, it’s a lifeline.
The people of Malabu, Fufore, and beyond are united in their gratitude. Thank you, Hon. Barr Aliyu Wakili Boya, they say, for touching thousands of lives with this giant leap. Mothers no longer fear childbirth in darkness, children receive timely immunizations, and families trust their local clinic like never before. This isn’t just a health center it’s a symbol of what leadership and compassion can achieve. Boya has turned a story of struggle into one of hope, proving once again, the impossible becomes possible.
